Mutmachbuch’s Shopify storefront enables fully personalized children’s empowerment books through a guided, multi-step personalization modal built with modern Web Components. Implemented on the Essence theme, the flow persists inputs, validates each step, and adds the main book plus optional dedication and diary as linked line items in a single cart request, with real-time cart bubble updates and an upsell prompt. The product experience includes sticky add to cart, product highlights, complementary products, pickup availability, and structured data.

The product page features a personalization modal and custom sections for each book. Adding additional information for each book builds trust and provides more context about the specific book.

Collection Page
When dealing with collections, books were categorized for easier navigation and store exploration. Collections were divided by occasion, gender, and special collections for promotional purposes. Every single book has different descriptions that were split and added via Shopify metafields.

Personalization
Book personalization is a wizard that overlays the whole screen and configures the entire book during purchase. The user gets a unique copy of their book that is printed on demand since all character names are decided in the wizard.

Personalization - Step 1
Book personalization starts with choosing the main character's name or the person for whom the book is bought. The name is inserted in all dedicated places in the book.

The second step involves entering all supporting characters' names. This step is optional, and all missing fields will be populated with the original character names.

The third step contains an additional dedication that the user can change or edit to their liking. The user also has the option to opt out of the special dedication message.
